Sanitary butterfly valve

Diaphragm valve

A flexible diaphragm presses onto a weir, isolating the actuator entirely from the product.

  • Best for: sterile and aseptic service, viscous or particulate products, precise throttling

Seat and Seal Material — the Detail That Fails First

The steel rarely fails. The elastomer seat does.

  • EPDM — the dairy standard. Handles hot water, steam and caustic CIP. Poor with oils and fats.
  • Silicone — widest temperature range, very flexible, FDA formulations available.
  • FKM (Viton) — best for oils, fats and aggressive chemicals; poor cold flexibility.
